This past weekend I officiated a wedding for a couple who had been dating for more than 15 years. I was so moved by their deep joy and love that radiated from their faces throughout the ceremony. Witnessing their simple and profound act of holding hands and pledging their love and fidelity to each other was a great source of inspiration. Their celebration of commitment reminded me of the relationships in my own life and the yearning to reach out and hold one another in love no matter what life brings. Placing our hands and hearts in love keeps us grounded in the Spirit throughout all of life - in times of adventure, wonder, challenge, and most especially in those moments when endurance is needed.
Let us tend to our souls this week by holding firmly the hands of love in our lives.
