Why So Serious? |

Amazing, awesome, freakin sweet, omg, great! No I didn’t just get done eating a Zesty Chicken Bowl from Taco Bell (my fave). I just got done watching, The Dark Knight. It was the best movie that I’ve seen in a long time. Best movie I’ve seen since Iron Man. And I loved Iron Man.
I had been wanting to see this movie since it came out a few weeks ago, but because I love my boyfriend I waited. I waited until he got home from Nigeria. He didn’t want me to see the movie without him. I guess it’s because he thought that I would brag about the fact that I saw it before him and then I would continue to go on and on about how great it was and how much he would have liked it. I don’t know why on Earth he would think that I would do such a thing. I’m much more mature than that. And besides, I still haven’t gotten up the courage to go see a movie on my own yet.
But don’t wait….go see that movie. Even if you’re boyfriend is telling you not to.
All the characters in the movie were wonderful, but the best was the Joker. Played by my late boyfriend, Heath Ledger. I have been crazy about Heath since A Knight’s Tale. That’s a movie that I LOVE. This movie was so much different that A Knight’s Tale, but he did a great job in this one as well. He was creepy as heck and did an awesome job playing the villain. I can’t think of a better movie villain. And I’m not just saying that he was awesome because he’s dead. He was really awesome. Christian Bale was a great Batman too. Super sexy. The story line was great the special effects were great the car chase/explosion scenes were great. It was all just Tony the Tiger Ggggrrrreat!
We are lucky enough to live very close to a movie theater that has an IMAX theater. IMAX theaters don’t show every single movie that comes out, but do tend to show the action movies. Apparently some movies (The Dark Knight) are filmed in IMAX format which makes them even that much better when viewed in an actual IMAX theater. Other movies that weren’t filmed in IMAX format can also be shown in an IMAX theater, but they have to be stretched to fit the screen. Please note that this information could all be false as it was taken directly from the mouth of T. He’s usually right about that kind of stuff though. I am so happy that we decided to go see The Dark Knight in the IMAX theater ($14.00 a ticket). It was worth it. The screen is HUGE and the sound is awesome. You feel like you’re right in the movie. There were a few shots in The Dark Knight when Batman was standing and/or jumping off of a skyscraper it made me feel a little woozy as I felt like I was actually looking off the edge of the building myself. That can be credited to not only the 30 foot tall screen, but the steep stadium seating as well. Tip: if it’s a popular IMAX movie that you’re going to see, get there early so you can get a seat in the back and avoid having to do a back bend to watch the movie. T and I had great seats. And we pointed and laughed at the people who came in late and had to endure neck sprains thoughout the show. Oh well. So if you can…go see this movie at an IMAX theater.
Please note that you may have a different taste in movies than me and you may be thinking that I’m crazy for enjoying The Dark Knight so much. I feel for you and the fact that you only enjoy crappy movies (my Mom).
Here’s a shot of my late boyfriend Heath in my favorite role of his ever! He’s a deranged nut job who is in it for the fun of it; which automatically makes him much more nutty.
It was bittersweet watching him in this movie as I knew it was his last major film. I was sad that he won’t be able to play the Joker in the next Batman or play in any other movies for that matter, but super happy that he was so great in this role. He lived up to the hype that some people were criticizing others for-saying that people just thought he was so good because he’s dead. He was amazing. I don’t care what the critics say.
A million thumbs up from me. And did I mention that I have wonderful taste in movies?
